John Berry
John's been training in Newmarket since 1995 and took over Beverley House Stables in 1997. During a short-lived career as an amateur jump jockey he rode one winner over fences, notably leading home Richard Dunwoody and Venetia Williams! As a trainer, his best known horses are Largesse, Il Principe, Jack Dawson and Benedict, the winners of 32 races between them. Largesse now stands at stud for his owners Henry and Rosemary Moszkowicz and John has trained a number of his offspring, including Picot de Say, La Gessa and By Storm - all of whom have won for the stable. A keen journalist, John writes a weekly international racing column for Australia's leading racing paper Winning Post and is a regular guest on At The Races' international programme.

Hugh Fraser
We were delighted when Hugh joined the stable in 2007 and he is now John's assistant trainer. A diligent operator and accomplished rider, Hugh has plenty of experience having previously worked for Chris Wall and James Eustace, for whom he had a long stint as travelling head lad. Hugh is a huge point-to-pointing fan and his ambition to train a winner between the flags.

Hannah Nunn
We've known Hannah since she was at school, when she used to come in and ride out in her holidays and at weekends. She joined the stable full time in 2010 is now an apprentice jockey. She won her first race aboard Kadouchski in July 2011 and we've been delighted to see her start to receive rides for other trainers. She works hard, has improved quickly and deserves to do well.

|
Terri O'Rourke
Terri joined the stable in 2011 and was a very welcome addition to the team. She has plenty of experience working in racing, most recently with Jane Chapple-Hyam. Terri is an extremely competent work rider and all-round sympathetic horsewoman.

Aisling Appleby
A native of Co. Limerick, Aisling has been an important member of the riding-out team here for many years. She's expecting twins early in 2012 so we don't see her as regularly as we used to but we know she's looking forward to getting back into the saddle and we'll be delighted when she returns.
|
 |
Gemma Waterhouse
Gemma has also been a regular rider for this stable for a number of years. She had her first child, Beau, last August and still makes a brilliant effort to come in and ride out whenever she has the chance. In real life she is the Finance Director for the British Racing School. Aisling and Gemma are better known collectively as 'The Angels'.

Sara Fleck
Sara's a vet and first started riding out for us at the beginning of 2011 while she was working for the Animal Health Trust. She's no longer living locally but still comes in regularly to ride her favourite, Douchkirk.
|
 |
Iva Milickova
Iva is kind enough to help us out outside her main job with Jane Chapple-Hyam, for whom she has had a few race-rides. She has a wealth of race-riding experience behind her in her native Czech Republic, where she has ridden over 100 winners and whither she still returns now on the occasional weekend to ride. She is still relatively unknown as a jockey here, but she is a top-class rider so hopefully that will change.

William Kennedy
We're fortunate to be able to call on the excellent jump jockey William Kennedy to school our jumpers as well as ride them in their races. William is extremely diligent as well as being a top-class jockey and we believe that it is hugely to the stable's advantage that he goes well beyond the call of duty in paying us frequent visits to educate our horses on the Links schooling ground. We'd love to see William riding the winner of a really big National Hunt race - particularly if it is on a horse trained here!

 |
Jamie Insole
William Kennedy started bringing his nephew Jamie up here a few years ago. Jamie has graduated to riding out for this stable as well as others. He has made very good progress in a short space of time and has ridden in a few charity races. He's now ready to start race-riding as an amateur.

Stephen McCormick
We got to know Steve when he had a horse in training here as part of Diamond Racing. He and is now involved with the Anis Etoile syndicate and is as passionate a racing fan and owner as you could hope to meet. Steve's love of the game extends to giving up his Saturday mornings to drive to Newmarket and help us out in the yard, something for which we are extremely grateful.

Tim Phillips
Tim manages the Newmarket branch of Nigel Hardy Transport and takes the majority of our runners to the races. He is invariably helpful well beyond the call of duty and it is great to be able to call on his assistance as stable representative at the track. When the horses go away under his care, we know they are in very safe hands.

Sarah Wynn
Sarah works nearby with Emma's sister Lynn and first started coming in to ride out for us when her own horse was having some time off after injury. Happily for us, she enjoyed it so much that she now comes to ride out every Saturday morning. She's a very good, confident rider and is a great new addition to the team.

Emma Berry
Full-time journalist, part-time mane-puller, bacon sandwich maker and rider of Pantomime Prince, Emma is living in the vain hope that her homebred Oscar Bernadotte may one day win a race. Preferably at Fakenham.

 |
Stan
Once described in the Racing Post as a 'noxious-smelling greyhound'. Pretty much spot on.
|
|
The Bean
Three legs good, one leg bad, but despite chronic unsoundness she still managed to win the Best Trainer's Dog class at the Camilla Milbank Dog Show, much to the disgust of runner-up Luca Cumani.
|
 |
Gus
Travelling head dog and the trainer's favourite.
