Superhero Batgirl Strikes Again

Batgirl did this stable a couple of good turns last season by winning at Nottingham in the summer and Yarmouth in the autumn, and she enhanced her record further with a win on her seasonal reappearance at Yarmouth's Easter Monday fixture.

Although still carrying traces of her winter coat, she was able to defy top weight in a seven-furlong handicap, flying home bravely under a typically polished ride from Frankie Dettori to win by a length and a quarter.

Frankie always enjoys a huge following at Yarmouth's well-attended fixtures and he duly responded very positively to what was clearly a popular victory, exchanging 'high-fives' with the filly's owner Tony Fordham before treating the crowd to a flying dismount.

It was a lovely result for the stable's first Flat runner on turf of the year - and, it should be noted, on particularly good turf, Yarmouth's groundstaff having done an extremely good job through the unseasonably dry spell to produce an excellent racing surface with plenty of grass on it.
