Second victory for progressive Kryptos

Kryptos has been ensuring that John's smile is extra wide for some months now and he continued to justify his trainer's belief in him with a facile five-length victory at Thirsk on Saturday.

Nicely settled just one off the leader by the very promising young apprentice Nicola Currie, Kryptos travelled smoothly through the first half of the mile contest before being asked to take up the running three furlongs out, quickening smartly to ease clear of his rivals.

Owned by Tony Fordham, who bought him with John at the Horses-in-Training Sale at Tattersalls last October, Kryptos has now run four times for this stable, winning twice with Nicola and also finishing second and third.

He has an entry for the Cambridgeshire on 30 September and if he doesn't make the cut for that fiercely competitive handicap we hope he will run in the Silver Cambridgeshire.
