Not to be outdone by rival channel At The Races, this week it was the turn of a crew from Racing UK to visit Beverley House Stables to film John for the Trainer Files feature.

Presenter Nick Luck plus cameraman Phil Clarke and assistant producer John McCormack spent almost eight hours here, arriving at 7.30am and filming six of the horses cantering on Long Hill before shooting extra footage back at the yard, including an up-close-and-personal meeting with Kadouchski in his box.

As you can see, Gus did his level best to become the star of the show and was the instant favourite of Phil, as he too has a Dalmatian at home. To find out whether Gus makes it onto the small screen, tune in to Trainer Files on Racing UK (channel 432) on Wednesday, 22 February. Hopefully they won't show all eight hours of John's monologue!
