We were very pleased with Hope Is High's first start for this stable when finishing second to a hot favourite from Luca Cumani's stable at Yarmouth on Thursday.
We bought Hope from the February Sale at Tattersalls with the long-term plan of breeding from her as she is from such a good Lawades Stud family and by one of our favourite stallions, Sir Percy.
She only ran three times last year at two and we hoped that she would be able to progress mentally and physically and show herself capable of winning races this year and beyond. She certainly seems to be going the right way, and we had been pleased with her work at home so it was good that she was able to emulate that on the racecourse – it doesn't always happen!
She appears to be fine after her race and we look forward to returning to the races with her again before too long.
