It's hard not to love Hope Is High for being such a straightforward and delightful filly and Wednesday's victory at Yarmouth also showed just what a thoroughly determined racehorse she is.

She was given a wonderfully positive ride by Silvestre de Sousa, who sent her to the front from her inside draw and had her handy throughout before kicking off the the home turn to put daylight between Hope and her rivals. It's a long straight at Yarmouth and, despite being out in front for five furlongs, Hope stuck gamely to her task, looking every bit the professional as she repelled all challengers to win by two and a half lengths.

Her victory was the second leg of a four-timer at Yarmouth for Silvestre, who currently sits at the top of the jockeys' table for the season, and we're very grateful to him for giving the filly such a good ride. She must herself take much of the credit as she's as uncomplicated as they come and is an absolute pleasure to have in the stable. From seven starts for this yard she has now won twice and never been out of the first four.

We will have a few entries for the coming week, including So Much Water at Windsor on Monday, Indira at Chelmsford on Thursday, and we hope that Kryptos will make his debut for the stable and for Tony Fordham a week on Saturday at Newmarket.
