The stable's good run continued on Friday when Must You Go landed his debut bumper at Market Rasen in tenacious fashion. He is seen on the right flashing home to beat Bellapais Abbey (Gerald Tumelty) and Leath Acra Mor (AP McCoy) in a thrilling finish.
Prior to arriving with us from Ireland, the four-year-old son of Hernando had raced twice in point-to-points and he demonstrated that he has a bright future ahead of him when giving his all to land the spoils under a typically excellent ride from William Kennedy.
We were delighted for Must You Go's owner John Halley, a trainer in his own right and also one of Ireland's leading equine vets. Special mention must also go to Aisling Appleby who rides Must You Go, or Nigel, as he's more commonly known, every morning
With Ethics Girl and Alcalde in the stable, we were already very big fans of Lanwades Stud's Hernando and this latest win proved yet again just how tough and genuine his stock can be. John now boasts an excellent 50 per cent winning strike-rate for his bumper runners over the last five years.
