While it may not count on any end-of-season tallies, Kadouchski's win in the historic Newmarket Town Plate on Saturday gave us an enormous amount of pleasure, not least because his trainer was in the saddle after an absence of 24 years from race-riding.
Kadouchski and John have secured their own smalll place in history after winning the 342nd running of the 3m6f contest by a whopping 25 lengths. The smile on both their faces as they cross the line says it all, and we have Steven Cargill to thank for sending us this wonderful photograph.
Kadouchski proved once again just what a little star he is, giving the trainer the best comeback ride he could have hoped for. Worryingly, he enjoyed it so much that he's already talking about defending his title next year.
Though the formbook won't show it, Kadouschski now has six wins to his name - three over hurdles and three on the flat. In the last eight months he has also given Hannah Nunn her first ride at 16 and her first win at 17.
He's a truly wonderful horse to have in the yard and everyone here at Beverley House Stables is very proud of both him and the boss.
