The stable's good form continued on Tuesday with a resounding comeback from Rhythm Stick, who, after 239 days off the track, won his fourth consecutive race.
His winning streak started at Wolverhampton on 2 December when he landed a mile-and-a-half handicap by five lengths. He won again 15 days later and completed his all-weather hat-trick in the new year. From just eight runs, he has now recorded four wins and a second.
Having had a rigorous winter campaign, Rhythm Stick went home to his birthplace, Pantycoed Stud in Wales, to spend a few months turned out in the care of his co-breeder Louise Parry. He came back a stronger and well-refreshed horse and has been completely straightforward in preparation for his turf comeback.
He is entered for the horses-in-training sale at Tattersalls in October and, naturally, we'd like to keep him in the stable. We would be very pleased to hear from anyone interested in getting involved in this proven and genuine stayer who would make a really fun dual-purpose horse.
Rhythm Stick (or 'Whippy' as we call him as he's by the Haras du Mézeray-based stallion Whipper) is seen here in action with Hugh around the Side Hill canter. Hugh's having a well-earned holiday for the next couple of weeks but we're pretty sure he'll be having a few celebratory drinks tonight after hearing of the result.
